The challenge
New-build apartment blocks release units in phases, and each certificate has to be on the register before a flat can be marketed, let or completed on. Assessing dozens of similar-but-not-identical apartments one enquiry at a time would have held the release programme up.
What we did
We surveyed the tower floor by floor rather than flat by flat, grouping apartments by type so repeated layouts were assessed consistently. One coordinator held the schedule, site access was arranged with the on-site team in blocks, and every certificate was checked before lodging.
The outcome
Certificates were lodged on the national EPC Register in batches as each block of floors completed, with a single consolidated invoice and a clear record of which unit held which rating.
