How the two brands work together
Most landlords and managing agents need both sides of the paperwork. The rule is simple: energy performance sits with Team EPC, fire safety sits with Fire Risk Specialists. In practice that means you can book an EPC and a fire risk assessment for the same building through one conversation, receive one invoice, and still have each assessment done by someone who does that work every day.
Standards they work to
Fire safety documentation is only useful if it stands up to an inspecting officer, an insurer or a solicitor reading it years later. Every report is written against the published standard for that piece of work.

- Is Fire Risk Specialists part of Team EPC?
- They are sister brands under the same ownership. Team EPC handles energy assessment — EPCs, SAP and SBEM. Fire Risk Specialists handles fire safety. You can instruct either through the other, and the work is carried out by the specialists in that field.
- Who carries out the fire risk assessment if I book through Team EPC?
- A Fire Risk Specialists assessor. Team EPC arranges the booking and invoicing so you keep one point of contact, but the assessment itself is done by a full-time fire safety assessor.
- Can I have an EPC and a fire risk assessment on the same visit?
- They are separate assessments carried out by different specialists, but where access is difficult we schedule them for the same day so you only arrange entry once.
- What areas do Fire Risk Specialists cover?
- The same footprint as Team EPC — London and the Home Counties, including Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey and Essex.
- Are their assessors qualified and insured?
- Yes. Assessments are carried out by full-time fire safety assessors who are members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, working to the PAS 79 methodology, with professional indemnity and public liability cover in place. Certificates and reports are issued in their own name, not subcontracted out.
- How quickly can a fire risk assessment be arranged?
- Usually within a few working days, and sooner where there is an enforcement notice, an insurance deadline or a sale in progress. Tell us the address and the number of units and we will confirm a date and a fixed price.
- How often does a fire risk assessment need reviewing?
- Annually for most blocks of flats and commercial premises, and immediately after any material change — a refurbishment, a change of use, new tenants, or a fire. Both brands keep review dates on file and prompt you before they fall due.
- Can I get both an EPC and fire safety documents billed together?
- Yes. Where you instruct both, we combine the work on one booking and one invoice from Team EPC, and each report is produced by the specialist team that carried it out.
